Digital X-rays are one of several advanced diagnostic tools that our dentist and team use to provide you with excellent care. Digital X-rays produce high-quality images so that we can quickly diagnose developing problems and provide you with treatment before your teeth and smile can be damaged. This imaging technology is also used to plan and perform a variety of treatments, including root canal treatment, implant placement, and other oral surgical procedures. Additionally, digital radiography is very safe for use, producing 70% less radiation than traditional film imaging.
Our dentist uses digital photography to give you a tour of your mouth when you visit our office. This virtual tour allows us to review our findings during your consultation with you so that you can understand what is happening in your mouth and make the decisions that are best for your individual needs. We use digital photography to go through everything about your mouth from top to bottom and explain what we found and what we recommend. This digital photographic tour will include five categories of review: Airway, Esthetics, Function, Structure, and Biology.
Our office utilizes intraoral scanners for digital impressions. Using an intraoral camera, we not only get a closer look at your teeth and supporting structures but also capture images that can be used to take precise impressions of your mouth. With intraoral scanning, there is no longer a need for you to have a messy, goopy, and thoroughly uncomfortable experience while getting an impression taken. Instead, we can quickly capture the images we need in order to create impressions that will be used in creating your restoration or appliance.
The more in-depth we can see inside your mouth, the easier it’s to create your custom treatment plan. Digital impressions make this happen using an intraoral scanning tool similar to a handheld and lightweight wand. It allows Dr. Cohen to scan your mouth without the goopy, messy dental impressions you might have had in the past. These images are ready to send to a lab for your dentures, crowns, and bridges.
Dental x-rays have come a long way thanks to advancements in 3D technology. This high-tech dental imaging provides much quicker and highly comfortable scans for patients. How it works is simple: An x-ray arm rotates around your head, capturing multiple photos that are sent to a computer for 3D formatting. Dr. Cohen will have a clear, concise picture of your oral health to help diagnose dental issues and plan your next steps.
Our office partners with one of the premier dental labs in the country in order to create high-quality restorations. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality of care possible and with results that will enhance your smile and improve your quality of life for years to come.
